Welcome to my website!

Jason Bragg   Jason Bragg was born in 1976 in a small town in central West Virginia, where he grew up in a strict family strong in their traditional ways. Although no one in his immediate family played music, Jason grew up in an area overflowing with bluegrass and folk music. He loved bluegrass music from an early age, but never tried to learn to play an instrument until February 2005, when he purchased his first banjo.

Some of Jason's influences include: Kenny Ingram, J.D. Crowe, Olan Selman, Bill Evans, Sonny Osborne, Earl Scruggs, Rob McCurry, Dave Sweet, Rad Lewis and Everett Lilly.

As of November 2006, Jason plays with Laurel Creek Bluegrass Band.  The band members include: Kim Brown, Carl Hypes, Sam Gray, Jerry Hamrick, Joshua Brown, Jason Bragg, and Haley Lively.

The banjo that Jason plays is a 1937 Gibson Style-11 with a Robin Smith [link] neck and the American Made Banjo Co. Dannick Tone Ring [link].

West Virginia House of Delegates...

Laurel Creek Bluegrass Band plays for the West Virginia House of Delegates...

Laurel Creek Bluegrass Band
Laurel Creek Bluegrass Band was asked to perform for the West Virginia House of Delegates on Jan. 15, 2008.  Laurel Creek performed two songs in the place of the House's normal prayer services.  They performed "Heaven's Jubilee" and "The Twelve".  The second song "The Twelve" was written by Kim Brown (the bass player) as a memorial to the 12 men that died in the Sago mining accident.

A good time was had by all, and the Delegates seemed to really enjoy the performance by Laurel Creek...

West Virginia Public Broadcasting Service was on site and took a small video clip of the performance.  That video clip can be viewed by clicking this
