Jason Bragg was born in 1976 in a small town in central West Virginia, where he grew up in a strict family strong in their traditional ways. Although no one in his immediate family played music, Jason grew up in an area overflowing with bluegrass and folk music. Laurel Creek Bluegrass Band was asked to perform for the West Virginia House of Delegates on Jan. 15, 2008. Laurel Creek performed two songs in the place of the House's normal prayer services. They performed "Heaven's Jubilee" and "The Twelve". The second song "The Twelve" was written by Kim Brown (the bass player) as a memorial to the 12 men that died in the Sago mining accident.A good time was had by all, and the Delegates seemed to really enjoy the performance by Laurel Creek...
